The Red Button Is Back
All those involved with HF radio know that the loved emergency red button on radios is no longer monitored across Australia by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Austravel Safetynet has resurrected the red button emergency call. This means that anyone in your travelling party can operate the HF radio very simply.

WHY HF RADIO?
HF Radio signals travel long distances ranging many 1000s of kilometres allowing direct point to point comms if required. Our radio base stations are located to provide connection to Austravel’s systems for telephone calls and internet access for our smart features.
When travelling, communication and emergency calls are possible from everywhere in Australia.
Many overseas governments and in particular their militaries, are installing new HF radio systems not because the technology is new, but because it is solves the reliance on modern infrastructure. HF radio is coming back because it’s the only communication method that still works when satellites, networks, and everything else are compromised.
